This might sound a little bizarre...but nevertheless I have to ask.

I have this particular concept for a shoot which I would really like to do however It requires something I have not been able to find many photos of never mind the real thing..
I'm looking for a cow rib cage.
Does anyone have any idea if it's even possible to get one?

ummm... butchers?

... or follow UFO's around for a while.

I'd go with the second just for the possible probing action.

hmm... do you have any farms or abbatoirs nearby?
They might look at you a bit funny like, not sure how many women come knocking asking on the off-chance that they have a coo-sternum knocking about.

Well theres a new store that has open by me call "cows rib cage's r us" i think it might be what your looking for

i think you will struggle as far as i can remember the abattoir can't let you take them through health reasons. The butchers do get them but they are cut in half lengthways and they quite often get cooked and sold for dogs to chew. That's what my brother does in his shop.

Looks like you'll have to find a lonely cow, perhaps an escapee, tip it. Wait for it to rot/get eaten. Then take the bits you require.

That'd make a good photo project in itself!

Would you say to your neighbor i don't think peering from behind the dead body of a cow holding a knife dripping with blood is not the best sight in the would if i'm honest. I think you should say "Your next" in a deep serious voice.

this could be a wildebeest or a zebra...

Have you tried a hunt kennels? They take fallen stock for farmers so may be able to help, there are a few within reasonable reach of Dublin

You need to talk to the local farmer's association...animals not destined for the food-chain will be your best bet...
