Hi all

I have a very nice opportunity whereby I have slightly over a month during which I can travel to anywhere I want to! At the moment I have narrowed it down to Patagonia or the Himalayas as I love mountains and landscape photography, and I want it to be a challenging experience. Meeting people on the trip is also important to me. I will be travelling for the month of September and am thinking that a guided trekking tour would be most preferable.

Does anyone have any advice around these two areas, recommendations for one over the other, or alternative suggestions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks, Fred

That high plateau in the Chile/Bolivia/Peru border that the Top Gear boys attempted to drive over. Looked like some stunning and truly wierd scenery to be had. The Atacama desert according to Bing.

I haven't been to either the Himalyas or Patagonia, but I can recommend the Peruvian Andes (particularly the Inca Trail which is spectacular).

Oddly enough I am looking at holidays to Nepal at the moment. One thing you may want to watch out for is that september is the end of the rainy season there: Average Conditions, I am not sure whether other himalayan countries are similar.
