Has anybody had any experience with monoslideshow before. At the moment I have my website with Photium which, I know, can all look very similar. I'm currently going through a bit of a revamp and wondered whether it's possible to incorporate monoslideshow into a Photium website?

My knowledge of the internet and website design is minimal, to say the least, and I'm learning as I go along. The reason I ask is because I was viewing a friends site and noticed how much more professional a flashed based gallery is, instead of the splodge of images that I currently have.

Any help at all will be appreciated

Hi Benroy,

I have dabled with Monoslideshow before, and i have it working on a few customers websites. But generally I stay away from it. I do not like how the galleries present.

As a photographer you must understand the importance of instantly choosing which photos you want to view. There are lots of Java Scripts out there for viewing images, some are very snazzy. ie (a little over used now, but) lightbox.js is an ideal way of viewing images in a gallery.

Flash has its place, in moderation, just don't over use it, and don't forget the fact that a lot of people still are on Dial Up/56kbs modems, flash will take forever to load.

If you do decide to use monoslideshow, all you need to do is to create a new div and insert the htm/l code that comes with it. Or table, as your website code is made using both.

HTH!!

Thanks for you're reply Justin.

As it turns out I don't think it's possible to use monoslideshow on my current site anyway. I have been playing about building a site from scratch just as a learning exercise. I am going to incorporate some kind of gallery into that so i'll have a look at lightbox.

Cheers.........
