I currently have a Toyo 4x5 monorail camera and I'm just not getting the use out of it. I love the big negs and the fact that it slows me right down but I want to use it for landscapes and it's not the most portable of cameras so I want to get a field camera but I'm not really sure what to go for.

I've looked at Wistas and Tachiharas but I don't really know the pros/cons of either.

I'm looking for relatively lightweight, good movement and relatively affordable lens boards, etc.

Any opinions from the F&C collective?

Mmm, maybe not.

I like the idea of making one but don't have the time, the ability or the patience.
 
I guess you have possibly already thought of this but is there not somewhere or somebody who you could rent / borrow from to get a feel of what might work for you Nick?

Hadn't actually thought of renting but it might be possible, I'll have to have a look round and see what's available.
 
That is a very nice camera Andy, I'm not sure my budget wil stretch that far without selling one or two of my other cameras.
