Monopods with feet? How stable are they?

I shoot a fair bit in low light ( abandoned buildings) and as good a my Fuji XT3 is, being APSC it can struggle in some situations.

I usually use either a 23mm f1.4 or the 10-24mm f4( which has stabilisation). I do have a tripod but being honest it’s a PITA to cart around ( even though it’s a smaller travel type) and set up.

So I was thinking about getting a monopod with feet, as it would allow slightly longer shutter speeds ( I assume) but be lighter and easier to work with.

I know it’ll not replace a tripod for really long shutter speeds, but how useful would one of the type with feet be for handheld stuff where even a little extra time would make a difference?

Anyone any thoughts?

Fuji's are pretty darn good at high ISO's so I'd go there first, other options could be a bean bag on a wall, lean against a wall / doorframe for additional support or a piece of string via the tripod screw on the base of the camera, down to both feet ( spread apart ) will steady the camera with practice and very portable

The only time I've played with a footed monopod, I was unimpressed. Worked fine as a monopod but it wouldn't stand up at full extension on anything other than a dead flat surface and there's no way I'd leave any camera attached to it without keeping hold of the camera. IMO not worth the extra cost over a plain and simple monopod.

This one is similar to the one I've got, but I haven't used it in years. It's not really stable enough to walk away from when you have the camera fitted, but it does provide more stability than a normal monopod as long as you hold onto it.

I decided to take a punt on a Neewer carbon fibre monopod with feet. It was only £33 so if it’s no use I’ll not have lost much!

Let me know how you get on with this. I was looking for a monopod with feet recently to use for family cake cuttings so I could be in the action. I had looked at the Sirui range but seemed overkill and expensive for what I needed it for.
