Hi

I am looking to buy a monopod, the aim will be for taking pics at motor racing events, when I am using a 300mm lens.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

I just bought a Manfrotto Neotec 685B for my wife. I'm so impressed with it I just ordered another for myself. It offers genuine one handed opening and closing, is very solid and extremely light.

That looks like the daddy of all monopods (sorry grendal i know thats your title)

I didn't think I'd need the tilt head, but it does make it even easier to use and it's only about 14 quid. I personally wouldn't bother with the more expensive quick release version. It's well over head height when fully extended and with the tilt head it's ideal for birds in flight shots.

That was going to be my ? to you CT.
Thanks

Neotec is the best option for rapid up and down ...

I've just bought one of these £99.95 inc delivery from Morris - good deal I hope? :)

I've got the Manfrotto 679b Rob - you're welcome to trial it for a while to see how you get on. let me know as I'm away from a while after Wednesday

i have a 679b

nice bit of kit.........and cheap too

Works just as its meant to (though took a while to get used to the beggar!!;))

Iv got the Manfrotto 682/MC29, very solid and great for walking down those dark allys and streets with your pride and joy around yer neck and the pond life looking on.
