Yes
what do you use, looking for a small head to use on my monopod, doesn't need to be a full ball head. Wondering what the options are.

Depends very much on what gear you are using. Generally I prefer not to use a head on my Mono pods as my lenses tend to be large and heavy so things can get out of control pretty quickly, though the Wimberley 2 works well if the panning lock is dogged down.
If you are using small lenses (say a 300 F2.8 or less) then I wouldn't even bother with a mono pod - let alone worry about the head!

Really need to know more about what gear you are using, what you are using it for and how long you intend to use it.

I would not use a ball head on a monopod unless I had about 3 or 4 hands. if you need to move beyond a few degrees off horizontal then a Manfrotto 234rc. If you are photographing more or less at a horizontal level do you need a head at all?

Thanks guys, nothing much bigger than a 70-200, and more for stability than much use and of course if like the option of a quick release rather than screwing in each time I want to use it.

I'll have a look at the Manfrotto as suggested.

Having tried various ball heads which I didn't like I bought a Sirui L-10.Excellent piece of kit made as a tilt head for monopods. You should have no problem with 70-200 lens.
About £50 on ebay

Same here, use mine for the Nikon 200-500mm.

I just screw an Arca style clamp to the top of my Mono Pods. As a couple of others have suggested the Sirui L10 would work well for your 70-200 - I use mine for anything up to a 300 F2.8.

i use a Manfrotto with 2way fluid head, also it un screws of so you can just use the mono pod on its own

I got my b&s head from Jessops - one of their own brand ones. I am very pleased with it.
