Hi .... I'm looking for a Monopod for about town, for a pocket camera mostly but maybe for a small dslr as well.

As simple as possible, no ball or tilt head. I'm currently into merging bracketed shots and long exposures where I might want to prop the kit against a wall or something.

Thanks

More critical than stitching (way more), stacking
should be approached with a tripod, I suggest.

You're absolutely right. I do have a tripod that weighs nothing, it's just, I'm usually shooting in public places, sometimes quite busy places and like to be able to whip the camera out take a shot and slip it back into its bag. Tripods attract attention, take up space and take time to assemble.

BTW Both my cameras have tilting screens and I'm steadiest at waist level and generally prefer that low PoV. But bracketed shots of, say, a building the perspectives are all wrong.

Hi David:)! A good friend bought me one of these for my birthday and I've found it most useful...

Thanks Elizabeth and Tom for posting the links ... had a good look and may well pop into Park Cameras off Oxford St. next week to have a look at that little thing.
