Hi,

We have 2 Manfrotto Monopods, the 680B and 679B. They both have the basic rubber feet. Only problem is that on the one, the metal pole has completely broken through the rubber so that when used, the metal from the pod is resting on the floor - not ideal! The other one is well worn too. Does anyone know where to get replacements for these or non-manfrotto spares which would do the job? Having had a quick measure, the external diameter of the metal is 20mm. Any ideas on how to prevent the pod breaking through again in the future?

Thanks,

Sam

Been here, done that.
Bought a walking stick rubber but that didn't last long due to the sharp edges.

Option two was to go to B&Q and to purchase a copper pipe end fitting from the plumbing section, which slipped over the end of the monopod quite snugly. Then using a rubber foot / walking stick foot (also from B&Q) over the top.

This has worked perfectly as the copper end bung makes the end smooth which doesn't cut through the rubber foot. Just added a bit of gaffer tape to hold the copper bung in place.

Thanks for the advise andrew. This is something I'd thought of, but didn't know whether it would be any good. I found a company a few miles away who do walking stick ends etc. Popped down, and he gave me 4 as free 'samples' - very nice guy. I found some old metal washers which are slightly bigger than the end of the monopod leg, and I've put that inside the new rubber end. Looks like it will be a perfect solution - and all free!!
