Now i have been doing a lot of outdoor shoots lately using my sb900 to give the shots that added "punch"

Now, ive been using one of these with a softbox fitted.

I have been having someone hold the set-up in their hands as i wanted it quite mobile. Now i have thought that to help a little it might be nice to mount the sfit bracket to the top of a monopod..

so, where on earth ( i have been googling) do i get a fitting that will screw into my manfrotto monopod head?

I cant find one anywhere! :(

Stokes - it's a good option. I use the same kind of thing, but I put a softbox on a tripod that I can get much lower (and is much sturdier) than a standard lightstand. Hasn't broken yet :)

Thats not a bad idea, tripod would be a good option for use when shooting on my own. Ive got an assistant (namely the wife) and holding the softbox for any length of time gave me an ear bending!

Not to worried about the strength of the monopod as i will be using my "monster" monopod, its about as thick as my leg and only goes down into two pieces and minimum length is a meter, in that case she can just turn the mono upside down and rest the softbox on the floor.

Not having an assistant either, it's a case of hand-holding or I use normal lightstands. But for rough weather and/or uneven ground, a tripod is a much better idea. I got one of these - it has a good footprint, totally independant legs and is strong. It only goes up to five feet or so in height, but that's cool for me.
