Hi all,

I'm looking for a 32" 4k monitor to go with my Mac Mini.

I have recently got into video editing and I'm looking for 4k but also want the scale of fonts to look all right natively. Obviously photo editing capability is a big must.

I'm hearing good things about Gigabyte gaming monitors and I wonder if anyone here has any experience of them? The "gaming" desgnation puts me off but I appreciate I'm old and out of touch. Are these monitors good for photo editing as well as gaming or will gigabyte have put all their efforts into the gaming category?

Thank you

The Gigabyte M32U is very tempting and gets good reviews apart from its HDR capability. 'Gaming' really means it has a fast response time and refresh frequency, both of which you can ignore for 'normal' usage. It's where I'd put my money at the moment and I don't game at all.

Thank you. I have read some positive things about that one. Its high on my list

I was amazed (and at least a little skeptical) to discover that Gigabyte monitor uses an IPS panel, but it still manages to achieve a 1ms response time and 144 Hz refresh rate.

Conventionally, IPS displays are more colour-accurate, but slow, but it seems there is a new SuperSpeed IPS technology which Gigabyte are using

Whether the extra speed would be of any benefit for photo editing, I'm less sure.

Thank you for your help folks. I've currently disappeared down a rabbit hole about resolution! I'm still looking but going to wait until the New Year and with a bit of luck some sales though who knows
