Hi all
I am looking into upgrading to a 22/24" pc monitor, i don't care about rs or built in speakers speakers, but want a monitor that render good true colours for processing photos. Budget <= £200.
Advice appreciated

If you do a search there will be quite a few posts about a Dell monitor with an IPS panel which is in your price range.

factor in a calibrator too otherwise regardless of monitor it won't be rendering true colours :)

ok, this leads to another question, can you recommend a calibrator ?
cheers

I use an Xrite Eye-1 display 2. Works well, but make sure that it'll work with your OS. Not sure if they have a W7 driver available yet, and the Mac Snow Leopard version isn't fully compatible. ( Check it out on the X-Rite site)

Works fine with earlier Mac and Windows OS's

Check out the Spyder, a bit cheaper. Can't give you a recommendation as I haven't used one for several years. Also the Pantone Huey is worth a look.

ive just purchased a spyder 3 pro for £85 ish from warehouse express. super easy to use!

interestingly my 2209WA wasnt far out, i think the spyder just dropped the brightness down a bit :D

i just got an open box of this monitor 3years guarantee from e b ay 152 delivered

should arrive tomorrow

was recomended by lots of people

You got a linky to that seller then?

After looking at one of the cheapest ones on ebay, I checked out the sellers rating. Now it seems he sells a lot of stab proof vests :lol:

For the best colour reproduction you want either an IPS or PVA/MVA panel,

See here: http://www.pureoverclock.com/article641.html

The Dell 2209WA posted above is an IPS monitor, which is generally regarded as the best for colours.

Just make sure you have room though, I have a 24" screen which I bought online, and tbh I don't think I really appreciated how big it was. But I still love it :D
