monitor help

Hi everyone....

Im fed up with my Dell monitor. The screen set up doesnt even come close to print....I played around and it shows my shots up awefully. I've tested them on the TV and they look fine.

I was looking at a calibration tool but for an extra £50 i might as well look at a new monitor...right??

Trying to find an IPS monitor (after reading previous threads) found this:

Any monitor will need to be calibrated to get your prints to be as they are on the monitor, so buying a new monitor wont solve the problem, it'll still need to be calibrated.

agreed...my fear is that this current monitor is faulty and no amount of calibration will fix the issue.

Just admit it, you fancy a new posh IPS monitor, no need to make excuses.

What do you reckon to the LG?

I have no idea, but LG make and supply most, if not all of the IPS panels for Dell and HP, so they cant be that bad.

As above, any monitor will need calibrated if you want your images to be colour correct.

i realise that....dont want to fork out at this stage and my monitor be ****ed and then have to get another monitor too.

Either way you are gonna have to buy a calibrator- Better to buy one and see if you can save from buying a new monitor ?

Rule #1 Calibrate your monitor.....
