Hi
Any advice welcomed on a monitor for photo-editing.
Thinking 24" or 27" budget of £1000.
Would rather have quality rather than quantity. Have read lots of online reviews/tests but they vary and really have left me confused. I suppose you can do too much research?
I'm after 'real' user reviews so thought I'd ask on here.
So, it would be used mainly for editing, the odd game, the odd movie/youtube and obviously internet/web page use. I know all about having a calibrator so I'm costing for this seperately.
Thanks in advance.
John

Depends how much you want to spend for the final 5% performance. You can buy 2x27" for around £1000 (Dell U2711/13s) or you could spend 1000+ on a single monitor with built in LUTs and hardware calibration support. 99% of people would be more than happy with the Dells, but if you're in the 1%.....

Hi Andy
Thanks for your point of view. What do you mean though by "final 5% performance"?
I've genuinely, probably read too many reviews and now got into a mind-set that anything other than the 'big boys' are nowhere near as good.

IMHO, unless you work in a controlled environment that is specifically designed for photo editing (no windows, correct ambient, control of reflections) - and you need to colour match accurately on screen, I'd save the money....
