I want start having a decent editing space at home so want to add a monitor , the 15" screen on the mbp is to small for my eyes as they get older. so question is a 24" or 27" ?
It has to be a 4k screen though not sure which one to look at and how well they would work with the MPB's? im tempted with the dell P2715Q which is currently a tickle over £500 on amazon what are peoples experiences with resolutions and monitors for the MPB? also the resolutions that work well?

I use the 2415q a 4K 24" and it is absolutely brilliant. Ultimately it will come down to how much space you have, and I wanted space for two :)

I bought a 28" AOC for my 2014 MBP, love it. Mainly use it to display a full screen preview of my edits in LR whilst editing on the MBP screen.

I would get 27" over anything smaller. Higher the resolution, the better. Avoid early 4k displays with dual-cable setup or MST connections.

2015 Macbook Pro can drive 4k display at 60 Hz using superior SST so you should be fine with the P2715Q.

Depending on you use your Macbook and how much you want to spent, also consider replacing it with iMac. 5k resolution and wide-gamut is a big step up compared to 4k displays.

My 24" has got exactly the same resolution as the 27", a 4K is a 4K ;)

If anything the 24" has the same number of pixels but higher resolution :)

My point was about getting a 27" 5k if possible.
Density :P but yes I get the point. I money allowed, and my poor little Surface Pro could drive it then I would prefer a 5K screen as well, one can never have enough pixels :)

yes poss the imac 27 would be a good way forward - its due for a renewal though over a year old , though the new one will prob drop usb .... just waiting for apples next interest free deals ! keeping things crossed they do it again this xmas...
