Hello All , just treated myself to new Monitor . It has quite a few connections , that I know little or nothing about . Can anyone explain what I might use them for ?

1. DP connector in .
2. mDP connector in .
3. DP connector out .
4. Audio line out port 5 . Should I be running my speakers from the P.C as I always have , or from the monitor , assuming the speakers connected to the monitor would be useful if I were to plug my phone or something into the monitor , which is unlikely to be honest , but thought worth asking .
5. USB upstream , what's this for ?
6. 2 x USB ports with 1 x port with BC1.2 battery charging think I got the idea of these .

DP is Display port
mDP is mini Display Port
USB upstream is used for connecting the monitor to the computer.

Have you read the manual or Googled these questions?

I'm sure you'd work it out if you did.

I found recently I had to plug speakers into the monitor audio out, because I am using hdmi. I am sure playing with settings may change this but couldnt be bothered to dig further into it at the time.

Was not much of a manual with it , just a page showing how the mount works and where the connections are . It`s a Dell monitor , will hunt around for a PDF for it , mentions a cd rom , but I don`t see one in the box . I had to search around for how to get the menu screen up ect , thought it a bit lacking in instructions , otherwise am very pleased with it .

IIRC, though I may be wrong, decoding of copy-protected content and streaming through HDMI requires audio streamed with the video signal to discourage copying & piracy.

You'll be able to change that in the sound mixer settings - my work laptop has 3 monitors attached and a headset - it defaulted to sound from monitor 1... Matter of moments to change that to the headset.
