What a superb idea, I looked at hiring this from a local shop, but the cost was stupid, any chance I can be added to the list please? Got a couple of TFTs and depending on which screen depends on if my photos look decent or not.

I managed to fumble around for ages trying to work out how to get the colours right.
 
I sent it to Griffy at the beginning of Jan. He recieved it, but I think has been busy, not seen him on irc for a while.

Not a problem Matty...as I've said to others, I'm not possessive about inanimate objects. More worried if Griffy's okay though. He was knocking up 40 posts a month and then vanished several weeks ago.

Anybody down the list just hang in there and see what transpires.

Griffy was back on irc today after being away for a while and is apparently having trouble contacting Hacker to pass it on.
 
I'm an IRC regular, and Griffy was in every day up until 2-3 weeks ago, hmm. He did say he had some army/raf service time coming up but iirc that wasn't for a while yet. Actually scratch that he was in IRC 7 hours ago, hope he's alright :shrug:. I'm sure he'll turn up, he's a nice guy :p.

Edit: Jimmy beat me to that one.

Out of interest, does anyone know how it compares to doing a calibration by eye using something like this

Well, I'm sorry folks but it does seem that you'll be disappointed (as I am). I'm going to lock the thread to avoid any additions to the list but if it becomes possible to carry on in the future then I'm sure one of the mods can unlock it again for me.
If the Spyder does re-appear then I'll make sure it goes to the top of the list (Hacker) and works its way down to Helium_Junkie.

Same here Bob, after such a generous idea this is the last thing you would hope for, fingers crossed its just "life" getting in the way.

If it does reappear then I'd ask folks not to keep it longer than a week and shorter if possible. At the current rate I calculate it will be October 2009 before it gets to Helium_Junkie :shake:

SUrely the person who last sent it must have the postal address of griffy? I would have thought if it does reappear and start going round again then the person sending it should get a phone number of the recipient as well.

I notice that his penultimate post spoke of recent 'bad news', so perhaps he is dealing with problems and has simply forgotten? It would fit with him not posting for a while either>
 
I hope griffy is ok, and your spyder is safe.
If its not too late, I would dearly like to be added to the list, although as you say, I could have a long wait, but on the plus side may have new monitors.
