Kit posted the spyder and I received it promptly, he was very helpful, posted next day delivery. I got it on Saturday morning, and been trying to make it work for me since Saturday night, and unfortunately haven't been able to get the results I'm after. I managed to make it work with my Vista, which wasn't a problem, I first connected it through USB and let Vista find the drivers, and then installed the software that came with it. The problem is that it gives me some really weird results. The calibration that is giving me is just wrong, and I am not talking about colours or gamma or contrast. It reminds me of the old monitors that had 256 colours, the tonal range is so low that instead of a smooth transition through colours and tonality I get batches of the same colour with a distinct line separating the tones, if that makes any sense. I tried different options, using different gamma, different colour temperature, calibrating on different times of the day, with daylight, with my desklamp on and off, and it still gives me the same results. I don't know, it must be my monitor or something but it is just not working for me. I'll give it another day tomorrow, will try and work it out in the afternoon when I get back home, and then post it on Tuesday whatever the outcome. Sorry everybody for taking that extra day, I did tell Kit that I would send it off first thing on Monday, but I've been waiting for it for quite some time now, exactly one year ( 7 March 2008), and I just want to try until I succeed! I will pm the next one on the list to get his/her address and will post it first thing on Tuesday!
Thanks everyone for the understanding!
Oh, any help would be greatly appreciated!
