I am using an iMac with the default monitor calibration. I do all my PP work at night under tungstan lighting because I would rather work at night and the light is constant. When I look at my images during the day they look a little bright. If I work during the day the light can change, one day the light could be bright another day it could be gloomy so the light in the room changes.
Should I calibrate the monitor for use under tungstan or for during the day time.
Hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Thanks
Dai

My suggestion would be to do both!

If you want your images to look consistent your monitor needs calibrated!

Keeping the ambient lighting in your editing room is also important. Block out curtains/blinds are a good idea. Rather than tungsten I use a daylight balanced bulb (6500K), they aren't that much more expensive than normal bulbs.
