Monitor Calibration But Which One??

Hi Turnip Farmer,

I used the Huey with Windows vista PC and Samsung monitor and found it very effective. The only slight downside was that I had to recalibrate every 3-4 weeks. Ont eh plus side, you can leave it permanently connected to adjust the display for ambient light.

ive got a spyder 2, which worked really well for me. im happy to let it tour every once in while. will post a thread here.

I have Spyder 2 express....works really well and not that pricey.

I'm using a Spyder 3 Pro, but after seeing the quality of the EyeOne think I'd rather have paid a bit more for that.

There are a couple of calibrators belonging to forum members going round the country. You could join those lists and try them and see what you think.

I had the use of Canon Bob's, nice and easy to use.

Do a forum search for calibration software and travelling

What's your budget. Personally I'd skip the Pantone Huey and go for a Spyder, Eye One or if money is no object a colourmunki

Another user for the Panatone Huey Pro. The only difference with that and the huey ones is that you can have a duel monitor set up. Not that I got that yet need more desk space oh and the second monitor. There was only a couple of quid difference in price so want for the Pro version for when or if I manage to get a duel monitor set up (dream land)

It is quite small and just sits in front of the monitor, the spider ones seem a bit bigger.

Thanks guys plenty if advice there. It seems the Eyeone is a good middle of the road compromise based on price:clap:

Just get a Huey off ebay for about 40 quid the SW's quite basic and a better free alternative is Argyll CMS used via the free dispcalGUI see http://dispcalgui.hoech.net/

On XP I needed to install the driver, it mentions that it may not be needed, in my case it was. The Huey SW does not have to be installed.
