Money,

why?

if I had enough, or to much, it wouldn't concern me, but why can't I ever have just enough to do what I would like, without being too extravagant?

I know the feeling. Sometimes it would be nice to look at somthing you want and then buy it without the feeling that you can't afford another thing.

Most of us are in this situation though. Remember that you cut your cloth to your means. So if you had more money then you would have a more expensive lifestyle and eventually be in the same boat as you are now.

I used to be in a job where i had no money, now i have a job where i get paid about 3 times as much, but still have no money! i just have more shiny stuff. you cannot win!

That's a common phenomenon.

I have difficulty reconciling my gross habits with my net income.

Just remind yourself there are many a lot worse off than you and not just from lack of funds.
