Sheesh! Are they tight with it too? I've heard companies state 5KG before (Jet2 for example on a flight to Geneva) yet my camera bag was in excess of 9KG with my laptop in - no problems!

No baggage allowance restrictions when we go on holiday, can't be bothered with all the hassle, cramped seating, delays, security measures, impolite airline staff, lousy coffee, rubbish food, I just shove as much as I like in the car for holidays here.
Off topic a bit here, but I'm on a rant..... the worst airline in my experience( standard class) was British airways flew with them twice and avoided them after that, If a holiday company used them I looked elsewhere!, the best was JAL.

I have only flown with them once and that was more than enough. 24 hour delay on the flight out and then a 8 hour delay on the flight comming back. That is 1 company i would never use again. Their first class seats were a joke also, complete waste of money and they even charged us for using their executive lounge when they didn't even have 1 at the holidays airport. This company was a complete joke.

10 years ago was the last time I flew with them, the staff, because we were in cattle class treat us like second class citizens, right snobby lot in my experience then, can't comment on what they are like now.

I've flown with them a few times, they offer cheap flights to Lisbon for example.
Nobody has ever asked to weigh my hand luggage. (actually nobody on any airline has)
I think the trick with hand luggage is to carry it as if it weighs nothing, if necessary do a load of bicep curls before your holiday.
