Anyone feel uncomfortable when strangers take notice of your prized camera gear?
In these modern times I always feel it is an insidious envy as opposed to genuine interest.

Perhaps it's paranoia in my old age.

No, I like it, especially when its the Rolleicord (or in the past my Leica). X100T gets a lot more notice than the D750.

Not really had that even when I'm using my tele lens most people just say big camera

When people say "Ooh, that's a big one" I have to resist the urge to check my fly is not undone

My Balda Jubilette got a lot of attention at Lincoln's Steampunk festival recently. I was the only one photographing with an appropriate camera. I seem to have got myself a name as the chap who uses old cameras, locally. No one comments on or appears to notice my modern expensive kit.

When using my 400 2.8..

From men I get "how much"

From women I get a lewd... "oo you've got a big one"..... to which i reply.. ..."that's because i polish it a lot" . they have a mucky giggle and walk off...
