Wasn't sure where to stick this, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I just released a model release application for use on any Android phones.

It's free, and in beta stage right now, but I'm hoping it makes the lives of some people easier.

I know there is already an app out for the iPhone that does something similar, but it's around 10$ I believe - and this one is for the much better Android devices :p

*Admins*

Sorry if I put this in the wrong area, but I just wanted to help out the photography community a little bit.

The name of the application is "Model Release Pal"

Thanks Yvonne :)

Here is the description blurb that I used - just to give you guys a better understanding of what it does:

Model release management tool for photographers.

Features:
- signature signing on the phone (with finger or stylus)
- add as many contracts as you want (pdf)
- export contract+signature
- link model releases to photoshoots
- more to come

that sounds like a sensible app John. I think I have finally decided on the Desire over the iPhone, so once Mr Yv has called O2 and arranged our upgrades, will get that dowloaded.
Watch out for the O2 news today.... http://www.coolsmartphone.com/news5853.html - The Desire lovley and infact got an upgrade this week so its even more wizzy.

Yeah, that'd be great - any suggestions are good :)

NP - first major suggestion would be an option to back up to Google docs some how for off line reading / checking..... never mind backups ;)

Also may be if you have the option to email direct from the phone the signed copy if the contacts address is available.... ?

I'll have a play and see what else I come up with....

Regarding the first point, I can probably fit that into the export feature somehow.

For the second point, you could export the contract + signature to any contact you wanted to - it just brings up the email client and you can just send it to whomever. Or did you mean something else?

Thanks, Jon, I will download the app later.

Yvonne, I've had my Desire for almost a month now, and it is awesome - the best phone I've ever had, by a long way, so a good decision. Hope you enjoy yours!

I currently have the Nexus One, but have my eyes set on the new Samsung Galaxy S - hopefully I'll be able to order that on Monday :p

Hope it's better than my Sons.

I have finally got his changed by T-mobile for a pulse. The galaxy packed up after 3 months and was sent away for repair for 2 weeks. 1 month later it got the same fault (rebooting itself, not connected to internet, dodgy email service) After lots of foot stamping and throwing my teddy out of the pram following 2 more faulty replacements he finally got the pulse.

That said, I do fancy an android phone when my blackberry contract is up next year.

Well, all the reviews make it sound godlike, but who knows.

I have high expectations, especially coming from the Nexus One - hoping it lives up to the hype.

Just installed it on my Hero... probably won't use it cos still life objects don't tend to need them, but I've installed it anyway.

:D

Nice one, downloading now :D

Add this to my DOF calculator and I am getting some nice apps on my phone! :D

EDIT: 50 seconds and managed to force close it.

Entered name, seleted studio and entered signature (and finally figured out how to save it). Clicked on the button next to contract and it force closes.

Running on a G1.

Crash could be to having no contract saved?

Yeah, it's due to no contract being there to view, but that's also a bug - it should give you a message saying that you should add a contract before you can view.

Thanks for that! :)

Will have it fixed asap!

I just sent an update - it should be fixed now.

I have now been the proud owner of an HTC desire for just over 24hrs and totally, utterly adore it! Downloaded a few apps, but the first was this one, especially as I have met Jon so it seemed appropriate and it does seem to be a very useful bit of software
