Hi

As a few of you know I have done various glamour style photo sessions. I have been asked to do a set of studio photo's of a mother and daughter for them to give as a christmas present.

Can any one recommend some ideas for how to get them to pose naturally and of any websites which may give ideas?

Also when I have done a single model, I was always told lock the focus on the eyes and then re-frame the subject, any pointers for ensuring both mother and daughter and sharp?

Many thanks

Rob

Just been checking it out - use the page up & page down keys to navigate...

Rob - I'll pm you a pdf of model poses - it's not on the "team" website yet but I'll get it loaded when I can....
Check out some of CJNicolai's tips on interacting with the subjects as well - espacially relevant to children.

Wow! that pdf is really helpful and inspiring, i was taking some pics of my flatmates for practice/experience and ran out of ideas pretty fast!

I heard quite a good tip yesterday, tell your subjects you want to take a few "test" shots to get the camera settings nailed, the subjects will relax if they arnt already, you can shoot away and get some good natural images!

Does anyone have any tips for shooting males? Female poses just dont work very well!

The pdf has some male poses at the end - males tend to be less natural & spontaneous in front of cameras so can be harder work! If you can link poses to a sport or hobby it makes life easier (or ask them to imagine being a top athlete or celebrity!).

I don't usually generate that effect in people!
