I did some wedding pics for a mate a few weeks ago foc as a favour!
Bride and Groom are over the moon but brides sister is moaning that pics of her in the group portraits her pupils are off centre!
I've attached some examples which are zoomed in ridiculously way beyond 200% and can just barely see a difference, but it's more to do with the angle she looking I think rather than anything else!
Don't really know how to correct it or even if it needs correcting!

Does she mean "I didn't realise i was cross-eyed...."?

I think a decent optometrist might be better than me!
These examples are from a group portrait where it's bride an groom and the other bridesmaids full length so unless printed bill board size you can barely see her eyes!

Permission to edit one to see if improvement ?

Tried filling the pupils to black because I thought the lights in the pupils might be causing her to appear cross-eyed

But no, still cross eyed

In none of the three pictures she is looking straight ahead. I am not an optician but I would have though if she was cross-eye one eye would always be somewhere else but here one eye looks to the camera and the other eye follows to the same point. Both her left and right eyes do that, and if the camera was close enough and she looked at the camera it sounds possible. The other thing is she wears glasses in all shots, so how do the lenses distort the eye blah blah blah when it is not seen through the centre of the lens.

If she in direct contact with you, suggest they repeat the wedding and get a better photographer :-)

Sorry about your problem. Done a edit on first very slight push on the left eye.:) Hope you can see the difference :exit:

It's my mate, the groom that's been in contact!
On the full size image you can barley see her eyes, even on my 27" screen!
I would imagine she's been zooming on her phone!

This is the one she dislikes the most due to her odd looking eyes!
When zoomed in there are a couple of small reflections in her glasses that I could have sorted if I thought it necessary, which I didn't!
These might not look great as I've downloaded them to my phone off the brides FB and posted off my phone!
Not at my pc at the moment,or I would

Frankly the bride looks more cross eyed than she does. I refer you to my previous sentiment. Tell her to FRO.

Simon having seen the full images I think you have done a great job and at the end of the day you have pleased the only people that matter the bride and groom (y)...........At every wedding there will be lots of guests and the best photographer in the world will not please every guest:)................just forget her...............I wonder if she caught the bouquet

Thanks!
She didn't catch the bouquet fortunately!
Not that I think she'd ask,but I'd steer well clear of shooting her wedding![emoji15]

I agree with Charles. (y)

Looking at your site (I'd do away with the word `amateur` in your profile link on here btw ;) ) I'm not surprised the B&G are more than happy with the images.

I would advise her to go back and edit her genetics.
Not your fault, and its not obvious at all in the full photo.

I'm no optometrist either, but having had a quick read around, I'm better informed than I was a few hours ago.

Two things I have come across: strabismus (cross-eye) isn't visible all the time and, how noticeable it is can depend on how far away the person is focussing. Maybe its never visible when she looks at herself in the mirror

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strabismus

But there is also a lot of other material on this.

But, on the reasonable assumption that the normal use of a camera, e.g. at a wedding couldn't cause this effect, then maybe the groom/bride needs to tactfully explain that its something to do with her eyes, and not the photography.

I also wonder if the Bride and Bridesmaid are related because there is just a hint of the same issue in the brides eyes, and it seems that it can be genetically linked.

But, I am struggling to understand why the Bride and Groom aren't aware that the bridesmaid has an issue with her eyes, simply by looking at her. I'd be tempted to ask the Groom/Bride if they had never noticed this before seeing it in the photographs.

Presumably it could be fixed by some professional level photoshop retouching, but this probably wouldn't then reflect the way she looks.

Cheers,

Graham

You are correct about the genetics, they are sisters!
I just wanted to set my mind at ease that it wasn't anything I was responsible for!
I think from the general jist of comments I'm not and there's not a lot I can do!
I'm certainly no expert in PS and think I would make things worse, trying to fix it,if it can be fixed.
It's probably more noticeable to her than anyone viewing the images, especially at normal sizes and viewing distances!
