Mmmm they made a good job of fitting that body kit

Jesus, I know jack about cars, but that made me cringe.

loved all the screws! :nono:

I was sent this last week and i'm still shocked.

Mind you, it was nearly as funny in some respects as the big power / high rpm engine build thread on the lancer register

:D

Did i read that correct he only paid $750?.
Last time i kitted a calibra the buyer was £1400 for the basic unprimed kit alone and that was around 9 years ago.
Have to really ask what was he thinking getting this done for $750.

What was he expecting for $750 a show car. Having said that I would not wish that on anyone.

Jesus thats bad  I know a few people I'll be showing that mess to!

No sympathy here, you pays your money...

If you think you could even get a decent bodyshop just to paint a body kit never mind fit it (and supply?) for under £400 then you deserve what you get :cuckoo:

Serves him right for buying a 350Z

:lol::lol:

<< Awaits backlash

am i the only one that asks to see previous work AND/OR ask to speak to a previous owner before letting anyone loose on my car (from a bodywork level)
paying $750 for all of that he should have known what to expect, peanuts---monkeys etc

any **** can spray paint, doing a reasonable job however is another matter

A bit of research and I discovered that the guy who painted the body kit has already been captured on film practicing his painting technique....

Im not sticking up for the guy but did you read the whole thread?

He got the job done at 'mates rates'.

I still feel that even if he had paid £2k for the job,the fitter would have rushed
it through & still messes it up - the bodyshop had the car for 2 weeks

Yes I did read it,
I still stand by what I said, $750= not a lot of materials or labour and going by those photos no skill what so ever.

That's rediculous. If someone quoted you less than a grand for a kit and paint job I'd be questioning the quality of their work. That's terrible... the people behind that should be humiliated.

The owner supplied the kit

thats just wrong on sooo man levels. What a great use of screws...

A pro would have 'counter sunk' them first

The $750 was for the fitting / spray job

Correction; the $750 was to completey **** his car - and they did a spanking job !

I've become very selective who I let work on my car these days, the original dealer doesn't get a look in, ever....

Of the few times I have had paint jobs done I have always insisted on an inspection of the premises and asked to see work in progress and completed work.
Last time was at a BMW dealership about 3 years ago, no objections whatsoever and they made a good job of replacing a wing on Mrs G's Civic.
I do not rate our local Honda Bodyshop.

You could say they screwed the job up ...

:coat:

You may well get your coat for that one Mr G! :D

That really is a bad job, even I could have done better!
