Is that the infra-red remote for nikons?

The infra-red sensor is only on one-side of the camera - so maybe that's where the problems is?

I take it you have set the camera to the correct shooting mode?

Point it at the front of the camera, on the left hand side as you hold it

Hey Joe, do you remember that TP meet years ago when some one couldn't move there focus point, then it was pointed out they had there focus lock button locked.
