I try do do my photography mostly on the weekends due to working almost every hour god sends (saving for a wedding)!

So you can imagine its a bit depressing waking up to find mornings like this where you can't even see your car on the drive!!

What do you guys do on days like this??

Cheers

Something you can do is go to a location which you have already decided, and set up a landscape shot ready for when the mist clears.
Often when the mist clears it goes from pea-souper to clear in a few minutes, so you don't get too much time. If this coincides with the sunrise, then you have cracked it !!

I took the dog for a walk early this morning, it was lovely walking through the mist. Took the camera with my 50mm 1.8D fitted, took a few pics while walking round. I got a few shots of the lake with the mist swirling over, came out reasonable.

That's what I do on a foggy morning :)

A thing i've noticed with the misty-mornings is that it helps to get a western-facing hillside or object for the sun to illuminate. The sun rising about the fog bank can be captivating but often causes most things to look like silhouettes in the camera lens. West is best.

It was pretty spooky, straining through the swirling mist. Just waiting for a figure to come lurching out of the misty fog, pretty good fun really.

Why not shoot the same location you usually shot, however this time use the mist to add drama. "work the scene" - Scott Kelby http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpHMuK7Htic about 10mins in... :) very inspirational

When I see a nice misty morning I only wish I had a car!! Head somewhere up on a height, looking over a valley or bunch of fields, catch the mist flowing through them using ND filters and long exposures, catch the sunrise through it as suggested ... the mist can make images awesome.

Mist in the morning usually means dew on leaves and plants etc, which is great for macro.

Took that this morning in the lovely misty conditions. I'd have loved to do some landscape shots but the entire skyline where I live is ruined by power lines :(

This was shot on fomapan 400 devved in ro9
Shows how people can be so different.
I LOVE thick misty foggy conditions
Some of my favourite images were shot during periods of weather such as this.
Embrace the nothingness lol

Its great how everyone has a wildly different approach to trying to say the same thing. This is the best thing about having weather such as misty conditions tbh. If you actually embrace it and get out of the house and try to capture the essence of it, you can get some stunning shots.

Wow!! Some brilliant shots!!

I thought too much must would get in the way of the detail but looking at some of these shots above, it's the lack (probably a bad choice if word, but don't take offence) of detail that makes then!!
