Ive been following Brooke Shaden on Flickr for a while and her dreamy mystical images are inspiring.
Is there anyone who could offer some direction as o how to achieve this effect in CS5'?

I know these are shot on clear days as Brooke has posted a few videos of her shooting methods, but alas nothing on her PP work.

Thanks in advance.

I'll take a look

I'd say go out and shoot an overcast sky, whack it on top of the background layer and create a layer mask, use a large soft black brush on about 20 opacity to begin erasing, this way you can create areas that are more opaque than others giving it a bit more depth. She uses lots more textures though - to achieve her kind of look you will definitely be looking at more than one texture. Also textures can look quite ridiculous until they are brought together by colour grading the whole thing , for instance your sky might be a completely different cast to your original image, this needs to be corrected etc then put all your creative colour on top. play around and it should start to make more sense! :)
