Yes
The missus has gone on holiday with her brother and sister in law and all their gang, I did not bother to go as they are a rowdy lot. She packed the Panasonic TZ35 compact, as its not expensive should it get damaged or stolen. Well it's gone missing! She says she folded it in a top/Tshirt to hide it, and put the shirt inside the case. But the Shirt is missing along with the camera! She says when she went to unpack the next day, that's when she noticed it missing!

I know it was only a cheap Camera, but it was ideal for family type photos and video on holiday. Plus it came with a spare battery! It was also handy for getting close up wildlife video in the park.

Just hope it turns up :(

If not, I will have to go shopping again :D

Look for a baggage handler wearing a new shirt, probably with a camera in his pocket.;) Think you can safely say goodbye to it if it went missing from the airport.

I was expecting such a reply, he will stand out like a sore thumb as it was a womans top lol ;)

i bet she was so careful wrapping it in a shirt, she put that shirt to one side at home and not in the case ;)

Yes that did cross my mind, but she insists she did put it in the bag. But to be fair, she did say check its still not on the bed, where she did the packing !

Oh well I am assuming it's gone, just wondering if the Panasonic TZ35 battery fits the TZ60 ? I got a spare battery with the TZ35, so hopefully it will be of some use to a new camera.

i had similar when coming home from turkey ,they took a nice suede jacket and a pair of prescription sunglasses, from a locked case it does pee you off a bit

Especially after I had charged the battery then gave her the biggest memory card I had. Plus the new top I think she may have gotten for the trip. Someone has done well out of us

I don't think you are supposed to place electronics with batteries in hold these days. The security probably just followed the protocol, not to suggest they are now snapping with the camera in question.

hmm never thought of that, good point. Just hope she has put it somewhere herself, and simply forgotten. Good job it was only a cheapo Camera. Would be well miffed if it had been a good camera that cost a lot.

RESULT !

On the day items were found to be missing, the missus did ask the hotel staff and Manager if they had come across her items. They all told her they had not seen them, but somehow she had a feeling all her stuff was intact when she arrived at the hotel. She has been grumbling about it to anybody who would listen to her.

She just told me she went out for something to eat, when she got back the Camera along with her top, was on her bag

sounds like one of the staff will be in the dole queue next week ,good result

Well, well, well !

That's certainly a result :) Wonder how it happened :p

Hmmm was she travelling independently or was it an organised group ? If the latter I'd be inclined to make sure the Operator knew about it.

She was with her Brother and sister in law and co. We have been to the hotel before, and the manager and staff have always been very nice and courteous to us. A bit like in the films where they say, put the lights out and whoever took it, put it back and we will say no more about it !

Hmmm - then it's possibly as 'the black fox ' suggests - someone will have had an err 'reprimand ' . I'm inclined to agree with him that someone is probably looking for a new job.

Certainly a turn up for the books!

Shame really as when I was last there, the staff were ever so polite and helpful. But there again why would staff take a chance, surely they have logs who has cleaned what room etc ?

Sounds like they did a 'I'm going to turn the lights out and when I put them back on I expect the camera to be back where it was'

I know it was only a cheapo camera, but its still annoying. Plus I would not like the thought of our photos, being in someone else's grubby hands

Result indeed  but WTF in the first place !
Not a good advert for the place is it? :(

Shame it happened as the place is really nice and friendly, it wont put us of going back. Some staff have been there a while, and others come and go as and when needed.

I had planned to replace the missing camera with the Panasonic TZ60, but obviously don't need to bother now :)
