weekly Miss Cupcakes 52 09'ers Weeks 16, 26, 27 & 30 added

Two spot on interpretations Miss C :clap:

That Treats slogan was really well spotted (and how many of us have gone out with one idea and come back with something completely different )

I think Reflections is the first Lensbaby pic I've seen and I really like the effect. Lots of reflective surfaces there but I too would like to see the end of the handle but that's a minor quibble.

Thank you all for your comments. I shall endeavour to catch up with yours this week I promise. I lost a bit of the frame when I straightened it so I cant get more handle in, Im sorry, annoying for me too but was trying out a jaunty angle and end result was pants. :) All other shots were not enough of the image sharp enough. I need to get loads more practice in with this lens. All good fun though and nice to try out something new.

So Ive rediscovered my macro lens with my Week 12 Emotion shot. I had thought about making one of my children cry by nicking their sweets but not wishing to be labelled a bad mother I took this instead.....a lucky find in my collection of buttons! I enjoyed using my macro lens. Hadnt used it for ages. (nor my tripod!) This 52 is certainly getting me to use my camera and equipment!

I like that, clear and detailed and the fact that the badge has some depth (rather than just printed) adds to the effect.

The age old question pops in my mind of where I would have positioned the badge...to the left or right....it works either way I think but my inclination would have been to put it left (no idea why and I'm sure it makes no difference at all :))

A good shot: simple, bold colour, well lit and on theme!

As for the 52 getting the juices flowing and the equipment out....yep it does that for me too!

(And that sounds much worse than I intended it too - sorry :D)

Simple, strong colour, and great 3d feel to it. I like it. Glad you found your macro lens again... it's fun. Personally, I'd probably have put it on the left also... (are you left handed Miss C)

Ive had this discussion with DS....I know he and others prefers the left but I still prefer the right!! Im not left handed. Just odd I suppose!

I'm back!!

Week 13 - Out of Context

I really struggled to think of something for this theme. Not easy, hence the following shot of a knife, fork and "spoon". Not happy with it, just a total mind block for ideas:shrug:

Week 14 - History

I have an old old book of photographs. All the images are Edwardian/Victorian. I only know they are my mothers side of the family. Anyway, tucked in one of the pages is a picture of Queen Victoria. Thats my history done!

History.jpg

Week 15 - Complex

Struggling to find something in the house I stumbled across my sons miniature flying helicopter so I grabbed it, set up tripod with macro lens and took this. It has red therefore I like it :D

A welcome return, life gets in the way of art eh? :)

Out Of Context - well has someone who has eaten daffs its almost in context :) Love the lighting and composition you achieved Miss C - was it in a Light Box? Looks good and clean and yep I guess it is Out of Context

History - brilliant shot, just the perfect dof (something I tried and failed with on my History shot) Do we assume you're related to Vicky then on your mum's side :) Nice image that! Top Marks

Complex - good macro - nice detail (including fingerprints too it seems :)) - and the red gives it some vitality. Well caught up! 3 good shots!

Its not what I originally had in mind but resorted to this at the eleventh hour!

why thank you (curtsey). I doubt very much Im related to Vicky although I am posh and like a queen, I never have any money on me

Has it got finger prints? blimey......I really should wear my glasses!!
Thanks for your valid comments :)

Welcome back Miss C

Out of Context - Unlike some of us... I have never tried to eat daffs... so for me, this is spot on, and very out of context. It's clean, sharp and well defined, and I like it

History - Bang on... spot on for the theme, and very well shot, great DOF.

Complex - Big old dollop of red :D... A helicopter is a very complex machine, so it's on theme.. good job with the sharp detail and colours

Fallen behind again. Not through choice just unable to get inspired with the wet weather weve had every day for weeks and lack of time. So, Ive taken a shot this morning to catch up on Exposed and grabbed a grunge one at the weekend! Poverty and SP will have to wait a bit Im afraid as I have no ideas

Week 18 - Exposed
Table top again Im afraid. Took a few shots with differing composition and preferred this one. A half naked orange :)

Exposed.jpg

Week 19 - Grunge
Had a walk around Shoreditch on Monday and shot this ....it'll do!

Grunge.jpg

Exposed works great Miss C... excellent Idea and well taken.

Grunge has always been a horrible theme, and it's come out every year for good measure too. A lot to look at, I think the graffiti has come across really well, and the rubbish adds a grungy feel, so on theme (better than my grunge :D)

Miss C time to catch up

Expose:
I love your oranges! Perfect dof and the lighting and bg work well...initial thought was too much right hand space....as I've looked I've decided it actually works well like that - it adds an air of expectancy (that may sound daft but it just does :))

Grunge:
yeah nicely seen and shot. Like the colours and the concept. Thats a great grunge shot! Now to put my thinking cap on and catch up!

Two great (and very different) shots there Miss C - well done :)

Had a day recently wandering around and caught up with Self and Food

Week 17 - Self

Yes, a cowardly shot of me :) I liked the wibbly wobbly reflection on one side of the image with the sharpness on the right :)

That's a cool effect from the ... well... whatever it is, and there you are too ;).. almost works for opposites too.. Nice one Miss C

Week 20 - Food

This a shot through a glass window :) I like the lines and simplicity of the subject, the stark white cups with EAT in lime green :)

I was looking forward to grunge :) Graffiti is a bit of an obvious choice but I did think the rubbish added to it, more grunge is good :D

Im glad you decided to "like" my right hand space. Its leading you somewhere, not sure where though

grunge, yes, I like the colours too.:)

Thanks :) Im not sure what it was either! Somewhere in the city outside some office block/courtyard. Funny how all three of us have taken shots of us taking shots

I'm really enjoying your image MC, way to many to comment on but you have a very creative flair

Poverty and wealth that sounds an interesting challenge!

Nick

Excellent shot for Food Miss C, the four cups that are all lined up with each other but not quite lined up with the rest add interest.

Have a lot of weeks to catch up on and Ive still not taken "poverty" LOL

Heres "Development" Week 22. Cranes over London developing something!!

cranesinlove.jpg

Next we have Week 24 "up". A shot as I looked up at the roofline of some office block. I liked the yellow against the blue.

IMG_9530.jpg

And lastly, Week 25 - Texture.

A potter along Southbank and came across a pile of Green sieves.

IMG_9562.jpg

Glad to see you're still going Miss C.. I was beginning to get a bit lonely ;)

Development, it fits the theme really well, and the shapes are great.. there's a large element of almost symmetry there, that might work really well cropping the blank space on the left off.

Up, again, fits the theme, with the obvious angle, and the arrows.. the blues and yellows work very well together

Texture, excellent... good strong colour, the texture has come through clearly.

Wow, lovely shots. I especially like up.

All 3 shots are on theme and well taken. Particularly like 'up'

The green in textures is nice and strong, definitely get a good feel coming through

Texture is super, great colours and a very nice composition.

Wow, lovely shots. I especially like up.

Thank you for your comments everyone :)

Ive gotten so behind with this project! Its really not been forgotten but so difficult with time constraints and trying to get out with my camera!

Week 16 Poverty. I really struggled with this. I didnt want to resort to taking a shot of a down and out so in the end I resorted to a Big Issue seller!

Poverty.jpg

Week 26. Duo

On a day out with the family I spotted this. Two signs, saying No Parking. Another shot that will have to do

Duo2.jpg

Week 27. Low Down

Another day out and getting desperate for ideas. I know, the road :D

-9840.jpg

and lastly Week 30. Different.

This was snapped with a point&shoot :baby:

Well done for keeping going Miss C.

Poverty, Duo and Different all fit perfectly for the themes... really like Different. Low Down isn't really showing low down I'm afraid... it would fit straight really well (not our theme though ;))... I think getting the camera lower would have helped.
