Hi,

I've been using my SLR for about a year now so know the basics, but still have plenty to learn. I was previously thinking about upgrading by camera (D90) to the D7000 (or D300s replacement), but decided not to bother as I still have plenty to learn on my current camera.

However I was considering upgrading to one of the pro lenses like the 24-70mm or 70-200mm. These cost shed loads of money as you all know, so my question to all of you is:

Will these work on the new mirrorless camera's that Nikon will introduce in the future? Also do you think mirrorless camera is the way forward?

Would appreciate your thoughts on this.

I wouldn't worry too much about what the future may or may not bring regarding mirrorless cameras. Get what you think you need now, there are NO guarentees with anything in life, other than death and taxes.

Mirrorless cameras have one distinct dissadvantage at the moment in that focus is by contrast detection, rather than the (currently faster) phase detection used in mirrored bodies.
Lenses tend to be optimised for one AF system, although some will work, albeit somewhat slower, with both AF systems.
Reading the press releases from both Canon and Nikon, they say there is no need for them to develop CSC's at the moment as the DSLR market is still the major earner. I am sure both WILL at some point dip their toes into the CSC market, we just don't know when. hence no point trying to crystal ball the future.
