I have a D750 and some primes, love the image quality but not carrying the whole system with me. I have done weddings in the past but now mostly family shots and days out.

Looking to downsize, want to keep image quality as much as possible and want decent AF. Obvious, but pricey choice seems to be the A7iii, anything else?

I did try a XT1 a few years ago, didn't really love the files it produced.

My history since 1989 has always been Canon but for me I am now going mirrorless with Olympus E-M1 mk2, mainly down to weight of kit.

All I can suggest is you check it out but IMO anyone coming from high end Canon or Nikon will not be disappointed.....................................though I have yet to get mine (on the way) delivered but all the lens reports and body reviews plus my albeit brief test tell me I have made a good decision for my purposes. (NB FWIW ~ for now whatever of my Canon kit I sell I will be keeping the 5D3 and the 24-105mm as cannot be beaten by the Oly [may eat my words ;) ) for low light indoor photography. Having said that I will be using it indoors to find its limits)

Hope that is of some help :)

I wrote an article on changing from the D750 to Sony A7III for weddings. You can read it here on our site or on petapixel here with added comments.

Similarly, I didn't overly love the Fuji (X100/XT2) files. The Sony files are more similar to the D750.

Also worth holding off until the Nikon Mirrorless announcement in a few weeks (although it'll likely be months before you get your hands on one).

Olympus system is great, as long as you don't expect the D750's AF or noise handling. Also, you won't get that FF shallow DOF but IQ is superb. Alternatively wait for the new Nikon Mirrorless to see what that's like.
