weekly Minx 52 for 2017

Hi Alison. Good choice and nice composition - the colour pops against that plain white bg.
 
Clever take on the theme, I like it. Lovely colour and composition :thumbs:
 
Very nice shot, as others have said I like how the sugar stands out well from the BG (y)
 
Agreed re: the wording, but that's being super fussy and it may be for a reason (I was constrained for my shot which resulted in a compromise or two being made).

Great detail and contrast with the sugar against the BG though. A good start again :)
 
Simple, striking image, although I would have been tempted to crop a little tighter and loose most of the white background.

Thanks I guess I should have left a bit more of the spoo.. in. I was trying to reduce the amount of white background

If you look on my flickr I did do a tighter crop but felt that this was a better picture

Great start Alison and another great song choice. I like the crop and the contrast between the sugar and the white background.
 
Very eye-catching, nice job. (y) ... but have to agree with @Dark Knight about the cropped wording.
 
So I took my new Christmas Present in every day last week and finaly on friday just before I left I remembered to take my picture

On theme and colourful. I feel there is a more creative composition in there. Not sure what lenses you have but getting closer would have removed the lower shelf.

Minor point.

Yes it could have been framed differently, but we 52'ers never remember at the time when we are to try all sorts do we... it fits the theme well for sure, good job you remembered to take your pic, would have been a good opportunity missed :)
 
Right on theme and very colourful and good light. I agree with what has been said about the composition, but I can't offer any alternative :)
 
Hi Alison. Don't think the link from the main TP52 page is working. Definitely a cosy pair to slip on and feel comfortable in, especially on these cold winter nights.

Ordered - Bright, colourful and nice use of DoF/Perspective.
I think I would have tried to get the top of the closest book into the shot, along with the bottom which you have got, purely for symmetrical reasons. Nicely on theme.

Comfort - A similar comment to those I've made on a few others today, I think the white point is off and would have adjusted it. The camera sensor assume the shot to be 18% grey, as you image is mainly white, the camera exposes it incorrectly, so it needs a little boost in post.
 
I like the composition for Comfort Alison but feel it lacks a little oomph, maybe a contrast boost and a play with the WB would lift it a little.
 
I agree with the above crit about the WB issue, sorry you are probably sick of hearing it
 
Hmmmm I like the image, but wonder that the colour may not be far off, cream carpet and cream lining looks okay to me, I wouldn't expect white carpet and white slipper linings, could of course be wrong :D - Comfort wise they fit the theme very well :thumbs:
