Hi All,

I've only just started taking pictures and was wondering, I have a very old Mintola x-700 camera with a lens.

Sony took over Mintolas slr range, does anyone know if this lens will work on sony dslr's or is is just useless now? lol

help, also, LENS ARE EXPENSIVE. Can anyone recomend a good camera for a beginner?

Thank you

Strangely enough I was thinking of selling my Sony gear if your interested ;)

But yeah it will fit but only with an adapter due to the x-700 having a MD mount compared to Sony's A mount :)

I'm guessing the lens in question is a 50mm?

thanks,

did i mention i was a beginner....

what is a MD mount and A mount....

also, are other sony lenses expensive?

MD and MC mounts were the very first lenses from minolta that will only fit their early cameras, They have aperture rings which is another way of telling the difference. The A mount were the minolta's from the 80's I think until now with Sony using the same mount.

As for lens prices it depends on what you're after, some lenses cost £150 and others cost £1500 it all depends on what lens you're after. Did you get my message by the way?
