Hi, anyone here using or used a Minolta SRT101 film camera. I'm on the verge of acquiring one and I understand the PX 625 battery it uses for the meter needs an adapter for the new size battery. Any information would be welcome.
Thanks.

I think buying a 101 can be a bit of a lottery. They are full of seals that can deteriorate, and most likely will have. They also seem fiendishly complicated to work on when they require a CLA. If you are set on one, you might be in luck. But it would be wise to anticipate additional expense.

Thanks Plain Nev. It's coming from a reputable dealer who specialises in film cameras so hopefully it'll be fine.

I happily used an SRT101 for many years. I eventually had to get it serviced because the mirror cushion rubber foam had stuck to the mirror. While this was being sorted, the technician removed the battery which I had been sold by a reputable camera dealer as a correct replacement and fitted a genuine proper battery. He did this because he knew that the metering is critically dependent on the battery voltage being correct. Make sure that what you are being offered is a proper match for the camera - in this case, near enough is not good enough!

Yes I'd read of that issue elsewhere. I'll talk to the seller when I pick it up.
