Does anyone know which modern battery the himatic takes? Out shopping st the minute, so wouldn't mind picking something up while I am still out if possible!

Thanks

The Hi-Matic 11 takes 1.35V mercury PX625 batteries which are no longer sold due to their lead content, you can get zinc-air replacements but their not the sort of battery you'll be able to find on the high street.

In case you want some:

You would need to MRB625 version.

1.5V watch cells should work find though, just set the ISO slightly lower to compensate for the slight underexposure the higher voltage will give.

it takes a PX625 mercury battery. You may get away with one of the modern replacments, though they are a higher voltage.

Replacments may be labelled SR09 / PX625S / RPX625S / V625U / EPX625BP.

thanks guys, there's a little electronics shop down the road that usually sells every battery under the sun.....but it was shut!!! will have a look at your suggestions

:)
