hi guys

as title says which lens to get,can only get one,both are £69 at local shop second hand.I have a friends wedding to do in september and trying to decide which would be better.

For a wedding you are going to need something portrait length (50/1.7) and something very wide...at least! The 28/2.8 would give you a nice field of view, but will be slow at f2.8 (although SSS will help the fight against camera shake indoors).

What sort of wedding is it? Will you be shooting indoors? I presume you'd want group shots?

both in and out bride and groom not keen on group shots but i think they will regret not having at least a few done.they told me they just want just natural shots as the day happens.

I've had both still got the 28mm don't use it since getting the tamron 17-50 though, what lenses have you got at the moment to complement it as I think you'll struggle with only one or the other. As said the 28 will be slower than the 50, both are good of the two I prefered the length of the 28 though

the lenses i have are the 18-55mm kit lens and the tamron 70-300mm lens

good idea.i might try and tap the misses up to get me one:D and i will get the other as i would like them both.but if i can't its big decision time.nowing my luck by the time i finish work tommorrow they will be gone.:bang:

misses came home today with the 28mm:love:.just had a quick play and i am quite impressed,she also told me the 50mm was sold on the net,never telling anyone where i see bargains again(you know who you are:nono:).when i work out how to post pictures i will show a few.
 
I have the 50mm, got it cheap as well. Its very sharp when wide open, even sharper steeped down abit. Looking at 28mm myself as well, any good?
 
yeah really good,glad i got the 28mm as the 50mm was not in such a good condition(rattly on manual focus),glad that one was gone really.The person who gazzumped me got the worse end of the deal:lol:.Can't show any pics yet as i don't know how to post them as yet.:help:
