Minimum alcohol pricing

I think it would be interesting to see who can find the cheapest alcohol on sale in the UK. Here's my starter for ten. 3 litres of 7.5% ABV "cider" is 22.5 units of alcohol, so I make that 18.2p per unit. Beat that!

Now you just need to say where one can buy that and one's night is sorted!:p

It's our local corner shop here in Maidenhead, Mike. I suspect that, by the time you've added on the cost of transport to get here, it won't work out particularly cheap for you...

That's an outrage so much alcohol can be bought so cheaply.
I'm pretty sure I've seen similar products for £3.99 recently - 17.7p per unit - but this was the cheapest I saw today.

You'd be surprised. On that train a lot of the "day" drinkers who started in the morning are on it. A nasty fight nearly broke out.

It's not pleasant. A real problem these days

Followed by some nasty insults nearly being thrown , a nasty weapon nearly being pulled, the police nearly being called and then aliens nearly landing and nearly killing us all.

In other words jack s*** actually happened but you found the proximity of poor people a bit worrying

Thats basically 100% by volume, so 500 units , or 3p per unit ... okay so you'll go blind and probably die, but thats what addicts will be facing if we follow the price them out the market plan

I wonder if theres a bunch of poor people somewhere having a similar conversation

"d'you see that banker on the train last night'

"yeah the way he kept looking at us it was like we are scum or something innit"

"yeah i didnt like the look of him at all , it like he nearly wanted to kill us"

"too right, shall we get the bus instead tonight"

"f*** yeah"

How can you tell if someone works in banking just by looking at them. Have they and you got powers of telecommunication, or perhaps they are just keyboard warriors like err...you....:D

the same way that you can apparently tell that they are 'scum' and 'drunken chavs' by just looking at them ....as ive said before you arent good comprehending at sarcasm or parrallels are you... and as to keyboard warriors... well let me ask you how many poor people have you described as scum or drunken chavs to their faces ?

I don't mix with scum. I proactively avoid it. You should try it.

I'll take you out in Glasgow and give you a facial recognition tour if you want.

If you can't spot trouble or potential trouble you're not very streetwise.

Take me into Glasgow? Oh Steve you daren't even put your head out the door at night!
You really know nothing about drug addiction do you?
The next time you visit your doctor, consider the possibility that he / she has been quietly addicted to Morphine and self medicating for years. Junkie.
The woman on the checkout next time you shop may well have been on diazepam for 20 years because she can't break the habit. Junkie.
The person who works with you who takes upwards of 30 painkillers a day following an accident 10 years ago. They don't need them to kill pain now...they just need them. Junkie.
Not all drug addicts are the dishevelled ne'er do wells you are so mortally afraid of.

So tell us, in what order would you like these people rounded up so that you can shoot them all in the face?

Oh please spare us the melodrama. You fine well know the sort I mean-the crack addicts, the ones that are in and out of jail in relation to crimes to fuel their addiction. Take me up on my offer and I'll show you. If you bring a gun we can shoot them in the face. What fun it could be.

I'd love to see these people as well. the only time I see a junkie is when they get their methadone in the chemist and they are not all "scum"
as you say.

To follow up on the 'who do drugs' etc I think you'll find there are no job sectors that do not have anyone who has a habit of using drugs employed within.
Some professions will have more than others but none are immune.

Just best not to make sweeping statements based on a preconception if at all possible really.
