Not exactly a DSLR video issue... but some tapes recorded on a Canon camcorder do not play back well on a Sony camcorder. All tapes are in excellent condition, and the Sony camcorder has just been serviced. Any ideas?
I had a similar issue a while back, it seems every manufacturer has a different way of encoding the signal to tape and depending on the settings used can cause some playback issues on different cameras. I don't think anything is "broken" its just the way the camera will try deal with the footage/audio on a tape, and if its outside whats normal it might not play at all.
Theres a link HERE that you can have a look through that might explain it a bit better than me.
