Just spotted this thing in Boots, and as it was only £5 I thought I would give it a shot, as I like to do "low-level" shots, especially at places like Bolton Abbey.

It is small, but very sturdy, and so small that it shouldnt get any wind wobble or anything. The picture below shows it in scale (thats a normal size CD).

The head rotates and tilts, and there is also a gap on one side so the head drops to 90degrees for portraits shots.

I was in Boots looking for these little "media card" wallets, which looked pretty good and were only £3, but they didnt have any :(

i've got one of them, great for my compact and my old pentax mz30 but it can't hold my d70 properly. perfect to throw in the bag 'just in case' tho.

It doesnt hold the 350d when I put it in portrait mode :( seems ok normally though :)

I've had one of these little dudes for "years".

Used it in many a resteraunt/house for family snaps.
It's even been tied to some railings so I could shoot fireworks.

Lives in my camera bag as a no brainer... for those occasions.

Got mine from a pound shop in Leicester for, you guessed it, £1

Oh.... remembers...

Just be careful NOT to tighten it too much. The size and shape of the camera foot is such that it "welds" itself to the camera body.
I've had to resort to a pair of plyers to get it off.

I've got a similar table top tripod, a Slik Mini 8555 which I've had for years. Sturdy little thing, I wouldn't part with it.

Jimmy..

Have you noticed that you can extend the legs too?
(you hadn't mentioned that)

As you can see, mine has "Velbon" written down one leg.

Therefore MINE > YOURS
