Hello

anyone use the MindShift BackLight bags ? Interested if the 26L will fit the Nikon 500 FL + Gripped D850
I know MS say use the 36 but wondered if the 26 would do if no much else was carried ?

Thanks
Rob

Assuming you mean attached?

This is the 500mm f/4 FL mounted on a D5. Overall its about 5mm too long to fit:

The D850 is away for a service just now but back on Fri. I can try it then but think it will be a similar result.

I have the 26L version of this bag looking at the image in post #2 above which shows the lens length issue.
You should also consider the depth of the bag. I personally doubt that your camera when fitted with the grip will sit well in the bag in the orientation in the aforementioned picture.
My 5 series Canon body (without a grip fitted) is a tight fit in the 26litre version of the bag. I don’t think I could zip the bag up if I had the grip attached to the body.

Not used the Canon but I regularly use this as a lightweight bag with a D500 or D850 plus grip (see pic below of D500 plus grip), fits just fine and no strain at all on the zips.

Thanks for the picture, sure shows the space taken.
Most of the time i wont need the 500 in the bag, just when I am hiking to a specific location etc.

Could you do me a picture of the FL in the bag off the body ?
Do you think the 500, D5 (850 is near on the same size) and a 70-200 2.8e would fit all packed down ?

Many thanks
Rob

Can certainly try it and send a picture tomorrow morning.

This is the 500mm f/4 FL, 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII and D5. No problem at all with fit and the zip runs fine, no strain:

looks like a good fit for travel storage and occasional hike.
Many thanks.

The 26l is so comfy when on your back but do wish I’d bought the 36l

That’s good to know about the comfort.
what makes you want the 36l out of interest ? It seem like a big bag

Depth would be better to put some lenses in vertical to save space and have the slightly extra width (but then I’d probably overload it!)
