Yes
Is it possible to connect a monitor and a mouse to the "one" USB port on a Microsoft Surface Pro 2? I am STUPID, I know.....

Not got any experienceof the Surface but you should be able to add a USB hub to create more ports I'd have thought.

My Dell keyboard at home has 2 USB ports in it.

Very useful.

Had a look at Maplins, the reviews for their USB hubs are DIRE, apart from a guy who has a Surface Pro 2 who gave it 5 stars.

Sorted it! I'm an idiot! Mouse connected to USB and screen via the mini usb thingy with an adapter. Brain isn't in gear.

It's mini display port not mini usb fwiw.

I was a little surprised at running a screen through USB, but am aware that I don't know *everything* about connectivity & development. Going to Microsoft would have sorted you out in a moment - and you don't need an adapter, but instead a mini displayport to displayport cable.

I don't need anything ta, I was just pointing out (although usb monitors do exist) the port the op used was a mini displayport not a mini usb as he thought it may have been.
He may also have used a mini displayport to hdmi btw ;)

When I said 'you' I was talking about people universally. Yes he might have used MDP to HDMI, or even an adapter to DVI or VGA depending on the monitor.

Quoting my post and saying "you" was perhaps misleading at best then lol ;)

We have been trialing surface pros at work in place of laptops. The guys that have them have a separate little black box which is a hub that everything else connects too, screens, usb ports for mouse, keyboard etc so there is only a single connection to the surface. Makes setting up when you get in each morning that much simpler.

Just missed out on getting one myself, my laptop is due for replacement but management have just pulled the plug on any further surface pros due to cost. :(

Just re-read - think I'd managed to combine you with the OP. Sorry. I have a cold right now and am struggling with the dumb. :p
