Microsoft Release RAW Codec Pack for Win 7

Oooh... How lovely. Thanks :)

Thanks for that, about time.
I don't view NEF files in Explorer but my wife prefers to :)

Does this add any functionality over the Nikon NEF codec that has been available on the Nikon site?

thank you!

It's just the naming structure

The X86 is for 32 bit systems
The amd64 is for all 64bit systems

Good spot, thanks

The existing Nikon codec does not support 64bit.
If you have 32bit and all is OK you do not need this.

The only problem I have with it is I can't readily see what picture is RAW and what is JPEG (currently shooting in both)

Thanks for that. 32bit at the moment, but will be updating to 64bit soon.

Cheers for the download link, can now view my Sony Raw files in Windows Live Gallery.

Thats awesome stuff, downloaded the 64 bit version, it does what it says on the tin :)

Many thanks for the link and it works fine on Win7, now if only they would sort it out for XP64 :'(

In windows explorer go to 'folder and search' options (under 'organise' in win 7) and click on the view tab. Untick hide extension for known file types.

Nice to have thumbnails back for raws in explorer now I'm on 64 bit. Thanks OP :)

Sort by type might help also, will put group the jpgs and the RAWs separately.

Works fine on my old Canon rawfiles, although MS say is is suitable for Panasonic GF-1 raw files it doesn't seem to work for my GF-1.
Anyone with a GF-1 having the same problem

Saw this thread and would add i downloaded it today after seeing it mentioned in a Mag!
