Does microsoft really hate Firefox ? or was it just a coincidence straight after Micro$oft installed updates on my system then Firefox crashed. Had to reinstall it to work. Anyone else had this happen?

Coincidence

I've never had any problems with Microsoft updates.

My wife had the same problem this evening on her laptop, as soon as she'd downloaded and installed the updates firefox stopped working until it was reinstalled.

Just to clarify, my wife uses XP

Ok here after last nights update ( to mikey-soft)

Updated recently, and 'the fox' is still working fine.

firefox crashes my Vista PC regularly, the whole thing comes to a stop, you can move the mouse about but that's it, can't even shut it down, power button, off reboot is the only cure.

Just installed some updates so hopefully it's fixed it, I have a laptop with xp on which works fine with firefox.

I think vista is a stopgap OS like millenium was

It's a coincidence Frank. Firefox and Vista play nicely on my machine here.

Mind you, based on what I read here, there and everywhere, I must be almost unique in having had a rock solid vista installation since Jan 2007.

Anthony.

Normally my vista is rock solid, I think it is again. It was just weird after the updates computer needed to reboot, so after reboot Firefox stopped working, it's working fine now though. Probably a gremlin during the download playing silly beggars.
