Microphone for EOS 7D

Do you want to record perfect sound, good sound or acceptable sound?

If you want perfect sound you need a seperate audio man

If you want good sound you should invest in a Zoom H4n or similar and Rode NTG-1/2

If you want acceptable sound go for the Rode Video Mic and Zoom H1

I wouldn't bother putting it straight into the camera unless extremely necessary because the DSLR auto gain is quite poor

I think at the moment I would like to record good to acceptable. So the Rode Video mic or the Zoom H1 may be my route I need to take.
Video for me at the moment is manily holiday shooting and some times rused, as the wife tends to get impatient with me taking too long at shooting and tends to wlk off ! !

Hi,

I have had a look at the youtube clip and I think I need a lot more tech time to an acceptable level.
I do not have Mac so I can not use iSound to sync or edit.
What software would I need to use ! ?
Things will get a bit complex when I start factoring in on board mic sound and external mic recorded sound to a video clip.
So I will need a Zoom H4n as well as the Rode mic.
