just a heads up really...got myself two hoya circ pols today from microglobe in london,as i was up there anyway.got a 72mm and a 77mm one,both for £62...i'd be lucky to get either of them for that price in wales

What colour of boxes are they in? There are several different levels of Hoya filter quality....

soory mate,forgot to say they're the 'G' model ones in a green box.i had the 55mm one in the past,and it worked very well

Green box Hoya filters are the basic, entry-level ones, sorry, but you can get them for under a tenner each delivered on ebay....

damn...and there's me thinking i had a bargain :bonk:i'm still happy anyway as i paid £27 for my 55mm one earlier this year.

Hoya has 5 different grades of filters in UV's. EXCEL( XL)) Green Series, The Hoya green series do not have any optical coatings, not made in Japan. All other Hoya filters use clear glass sometimes called water glass. They come in Mono coated (single anti reflective coatings) Multi-coating (several layers of anti reflective coatings) called HMC, Pro-1 Digital (DMC) and Super MC (SMC) with 5 layers of Multi coatings on each side. The Super MC's have the best coating we have ever seen, 99.7% transmission of light
