Just a quick recommendation for Microglobe.

Went online at lunchtime to find an alternative source for the Sigma 70-300mm lens I had ordered from another supplier after receiving an email saying that the lens I ordered last week is no longer in stock and they have got no idea when they will be getting more in!

Anyway, ended up finding Microglobe via Google, and their website said that they had the APO version of the lens I wanted, in stock, @ £129 :D

After my previous experience, I thought it best to ring up and check that they actually had it in stock! Spoke to the guy in the shop, who was very helpful, and he informed me that they did have it in stock, and it was ready for immediate shipment!

Went back online and placed the order at 13.45 and then received an email at 15.00 to say the lens had been shipped :thumbs:

The only thing I will say, is to always ring and check that they have actually got the item in stock.... as the website said that the also had the non-APO lens in stock, but when I asked about it, the guy said they didn't have any in stock.

after I ordered the lens from Microglobe, I dropped an email to the pther supplier requesting to cancel my order with them, as I've ordered it somewhere else due to needing it for the weekend....

just had a reply from them saying that they had had a delivery of lenses today and they have put mine in the post to me!

so it looks like I'm going to have 2 lenses arriving tomorrow !!

however, the other supplier has said to just refuse the delivery and they'll refund me the ££.

Only 1 problem.... I'm not in work tomorrow to refuse the delivery! and knowing my luck the guys at work will refuse either the wrong one, or both !!!!
 
lens arrived today, a day late thanks to Royal Mail not sticking to their Guaranteed Next Day Delivery !!!

Microglobe posted it on the 17th, arrived today the 19th.....

Anyone know how to make a claim for late delivery?!? ;)
 
Just ordered a couple of Hoya UV Filters from Microglobe (should have added them to the lens order to save p&p!)

Ordered 1 x 52mm and 1 x 58mm, total (inc p&p) = £13.40

Ordered at 2pm, shipped at 4pm :D
 
I've dealt with them and they were great, no problems shipping to France, and a good price too.
 
Bought a Marumi 77mm CPL from Microglobe as advised by one of our very helpful fellow TPF member.

Called them on Saturday and asked for the CPL but the guy said they were out of stock. Went on their website and ordered and it was delivered on Tuesday.

Not a great inventory management system but nevertheless the service standards are top notch.
 
Ordered my Nikon 22m lens from them yesterday and it arrived this morning. Only thing I have noticed is that there is no lens warranty form with it, so I suspect it is grey import. The price was £50 cheaper than anywhere else, so I suppose I can't really complain.
 
I ordered a poloriser from them, came very fast.
Good prices too.
 
I bought a Tamron 90 from them last year. The lens had a big chunk of some sort of fluff inside. I retuned for a refund and no questions asked. Friendly over the phone too.
 
I use them a lot when working as photographers i work for love me for sourcing them out kit thats cheaper than calumet and fixation.

But what makes these guys so cheap? They arent Grey Imports are they?

My only conclusion is because they are mostly mail order and their shop isnt exactly big.

Yes, gray imports, but when I thought I had a problem with my MB-D10 I emailed them and they called me back and were most helpful, far better than Calumet in that respect.....
