Hi,

I'm more and more being seduced by Macro. True macro that is, 1:1.

I've been looking at a couple of third party lenses, Tamron 90mm, Sigma 105mm and the Tokina 100mm.

The reviews for all 3 are generally good, but as always, there are the odd ones which are less than complimentary, probably because the owner has ha a bad experience.

I have a chance at a Micro Nikkor 105 2.8D, the last version, not the VR one. It's around £300, which seems an exceptionally good price.

Has anybody any experience of this lens?? From what I've read, it seems highly regarded, but hands on reviews seem few and far between.

I think I'd like to buy this, but before I do, I'd be interested in members views.

Even one man threads are interesting...:lol:

I did have something to say, but its not important now, a little about the price difference between the VR and the non VR.
Either way, they're both as sharp as ****, and its ringflash time in dougland :)
 
"Ringflash"?........sounds like a saturday morning complaint........:)
